Project funding: As of 2011 the 1 March deadline will be moved to 1 April. The deadline 1 October remains unchanged.

On August 30, 2010 UZH and USZ signed an agreement concerning SNSF projects involving both parties.

New procedure as of 1 March 2010: The Vice President Medicine and Natural Sciences is responsible for the university’s institutional statement and, if necessary, will ask the research committee for an opinion on the requests.

SNSF project funding

The Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) awards funding for basic scientific research in all subject areas.

All researchers active in Switzerland are eligible to apply. Funding covers direct expenses such as research equipment, salaries of co-workers and travel expenses. Funding is granted for a period of 12 to 36 months.

Submission deadlines
1 April and 1 October (application via mySNF)

University's institutional statement

The SNSF expects the University of Zurich to comment on grant applications submitted by UZH members.

Therefore, each UZH member who is the main applicant of an SNSF grant application is asked to submit the following form to the office Funding for Individuals and Projects by 1 April / 1 October:

Confirmation of general conditions and infrastructure

The form has to be signed by the official head of the institute, seminar or clinic. It can be submitted by regular mail or by e-mail (support@forschung.uzh.ch).
