Confidants

Truth and fairness are fundamental elements of scientific work. Every researcher knows the rules of the discipline and the importance of personal responsibility. Nevertheless, there are cases where scientific integrity is called into question. On November 11, 2003, the Extended Executive Board of the University issued a directive on procedures for dealing with suspected dishonesty in science.

The Faculty Assemblies elect from among their members or circle of former members two confidants to act as contact persons and to investigate any suspicion of dishonesty in science. If members of the university become aware of any misconduct in science or should they have reasonable grounds for suspicion, they are obliged to contact a faculty confidant immediately.
