Grants from the European Research Council (ERC) provide young and promising researchers with the opportunity to prove their worth as innovative and original scholars. Calls are open to top researchers of any nationality and scientific excellence is the sole criterion of evaluation.
An ERC grant goes toward creating or consolidating a research team at a public or private research institution in the EU or an associated country.
- 2-7 years of experience after PhD
- Grant amounts up to 2 Mio. Euro for a period of five years
- 7-12 years of experience after PhD
- Grant amounts up to 2.75 Mio. Euro for a period of five years
Applications of UZH researchers
Researchers at the UZH intending to apply for an ERC grant are asked to contact EU GrantsAccess at an early stage.
Researchers in Switzerland are fully eligible to apply for all ERC calls. The association of Switzerland to Horizon 2020 (the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation) is secured for the period from 1 January 2017 to 31 December 2020.
