Humanities Initiative (IGW)

In times of digital transformation and global knowledge networking, the humanities are particularly in demand when it comes to offering society perspectives for interpreting a changing world.

The Humanities Initiative (IGW) is intended to provide an institutional framework for humanities scholars at UZH to address the general public with contributions on current and fundamental issues and questions of world affairs, thereby emphasizing the value of academic education, which has always been emphasized by UZH, to promote community education and to actively participate in the discourse on the roles, functions and positions of the humanities.

At the IGW, researchers mainly from the humanities at UZH work together. In addition, researchers from the medical and social sciences also participate.
